Israelite Bay and Moir Homestead

Western Australia

The works consisted of relaying the damp proof course, rebuilding of walls, re-pointing of walls and urgent stabilisation of stonework, especially chimneys, to prevent further deterioration and halt the ingress on vegetation.

Israelite Bay Telegraph Station and Moir Homestead are located outside of the Esperance Town Centre. All the buildings at both sites were in a poor state, with no roofs and collapsed sections of wall. The buildings were in danger of further collapse if sections of stonework were not stabilised. The chimneys on Israelite Bay Telegraph Station were in danger of collapse which if to occur would cause significant damage to the remnant walls.
