The place has undergone several stages of maintenance and conservation works over recent years. In 2015-16 Griffiths Architects designed, documented and administered Stage 3 conservation works.

The project successfully combined positive commercial and heritage outcomes maintain the heritage values of the place. Good communication between all parties allowed for a smooth programme of works.

Fremantle Boys’ School is a large limestone and brick school building in the Victorian Tudor style. The building was built in 1854.
